AI content & community rules
What AI-made content is, where the lines are, and how to protect your rights.
They're made up: they don't show real people, real experiences or real events. Don't pass them off as fact, news or evidence, or as something a real person said or did.
Never allowed
- Not allowedCelebrities and public figures
Don't create, upload or share impersonations, face swaps or fake endorsements that use the face, voice or identity of celebrities, influencers, politicians or any other real public figure.
- Not allowedMinors
No one under 18, no one who clearly looks like a minor, and no one whose age can't be reliably confirmed — whether realistic, fictional, anime or AI-made. Calling a character "an adult" in text doesn't replace judging their age.
- Not allowedSexual violence and non-consent
No coercion, drugging, hidden-camera content, rape or other sexual assault, and no intimate images of anyone shared without their consent — nor any synthetic version of these, or content that promotes or glorifies them.
- Not allowedRights and privacy violations
Don't use a real person's likeness, voice or personal information, or anyone else's protected work, without permission. No harassment, defamation, impersonation or fraud.
- Not allowedOther illegal or harmful content
No obscene material, unlawful violence, hate, exploitation or anything else that breaks applicable law. Being AI-made or a fictional identity is no exception.
Real people and their likeness
If an upload or a result shows a real person, these rules apply:
- Only upload photos of yourself, or of adults who have given you permission to use their likeness this way.
- Never upload or generate anyone under 18, or anyone who looks like a minor. We remove that content and close the account.
- No images of real, identifiable people — public figures included — without their consent, and no face swaps of real people.
- To report content that breaks these rules, use Report a problem. When we confirm a violation, we remove the content.
Labels and sharing
The "AI-generated" label next to a work tells viewers what it is. When you post, repost or quote a work, make clear it was generated or altered by AI. Don't remove, cover or fake the label, and don't present a work as a real recording.
How we enforce the rules
Content that breaks these rules may not be posted. When we find it, we take it down and review it, and we may limit or disable the account behind it. This page doesn't replace moderation, and it doesn't mean every file on the site is licensed or has been reviewed.
Anyone can report a post, comment, message or account through Report a problem. When we act on your content or account, we tell you what we did and why — unless the law or someone's safety prevents it — and you can ask us to look at the decision again using this contact channel: Contact us.
If an intimate image or video of you — real or AI-made — was shared without your consent, report it: we take it down within 48 hours of a valid request and remove the copies we find. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
Legal background
Rules for labeling AI content keep getting stricter. The EU AI Act requires deepfakes to be disclosed as AI-made, and China's Measures for Labeling AI-Generated Synthetic Content set rules for visible and hidden labels and for sharing labeled content. Everyone who provides or uses the service still has to follow the laws where they are; these rules don't replace legal obligations.
